Most often when we hear the advice, “Life can change so quickly”, it seems like a precautionary tale. There’s value in that. Hopefully suggesting we live in the moment and not take what we have for granted. It also can be offered as a statement of hope. Life can change so quickly. Wherever you are may only be moments away from where you want to be. My life has changed so dramatically in the past seven months it’s almost remarkable. And I’m grateful. I share this as a positive message for you that positive change doesn’t necessarily take as long as we think. You may be just months, maybe weeks away, from realizing your life has changed in just the way you had hoped. I’d also like to offer that change came about for me, as it does for most people, because of the following decisions I made. You can’t be inactive and expect change to occur. I used to tell my kids, “you have to meet the sun half way.”
1) I chose to walk into the fire and attend an emotionally challenging breakthrough weekend workshop with my coach, Brian Whetten and Jay Fiset. I am hoping to get Jay to be a guest coach at a coaching retreat I am organizing for April 2014 so he can do for others what he did for me.
2) I chose to see the world differently.
3) I joined a leadership development group facilitated by my coach Brian Whetten. Being in the company of like-minded people who challenge you and hold you accountable is priceless. That’s why so much of my effort as a coach goes into my Photography Business MasterMind group. I get the power of the group dynamic.
4) I learned to Receive not Achieve. Ok- still working on this one but it has made a radical difference to not push and strive for what I want in life and learn that I am deserving to receive. I don’t have to beat success to the punch!
And there you have it! I hope this helps you out a bit. And offers you hope and some specific action steps you can take to have a moment to reflect back six months from now in astonishment and say, “wow, life can change so quickly”.
