During this time of Project Fascination when you can take the Fascination Advantage Assessment for free, it seems a fair number of people are taking the assessment more than once to see if they get the same results. Some are and some aren’t. This doesn’t surprise me at all and I’d like to offer my take on why one would receive different results. These are my insights as a business coach and Sally may have a very different explanation.
In case you are not fully clear on Sally’s work, let me give this some context. The Fascination Advantage Assessment and Sally’s latest book, “How the World Sees You”, offers you the opportunity to become aware of how the world sees YOU. Up until this point, most personality tests and such have been about how you the see the world. While that’s been valuable in the past, in today’s competitive over-saturated world, particularly in business and building a brand, it is far more valuable to understand what the world finds most compelling about you.
My take on that is the world sees in us our most innate characteristics. The things that come natural to us. Because it’s our natural way of being we are not aware of them. But it’s these characteristics the world finds most fascinating and most wants from us.
So what does it mean if we get different results if we take the assessment more than once? It’s quite simple actually. We are in fact all these things at different times. The assessment has 49 archetypes with 3 characteristics for each. That’s a lot of ways of being! We are complicated beings!
The truth is everyone one of us are most, if not all, of these things. However, the purpose of the assessment is to find out what the world finds MOST fascinating about you. With this information you can present yourself at your highest and most effective level. Not that any of the other results are bad or wrong. They are a part of you too. Just not your most compelling.
I would tend to lean more into the results of the first assessment you took. The first time you take something like the assessment you are working from a more unconscious state. Not knowing exactly where it’s going. Again, you’re looking to bring forward what is so natural about you, you are not even aware the positive impact it has on others. In a way, the assessment makes your life easy. There’s nothing to change here. You are simply becoming informed so that you can be more of who you already are. It’s like looking into a mirror and the world is reflecting back what they see.
Each time you take it after, from a place of more awareness, you are bringing up more conscious thought. Valuable perhaps but I believe more accurate results will be found in letting your natural advantages to bubble up to the surface when you are less aware of yourself as you were when you took it the first time.
